We were short on time, trapping in country with too much grass and water, plus it was an area we have trapped many times before so we were facing a few very trap-shy dogs. We simply had to try every trick in the book if we were to be successful.

You may have heard me say it before but it's worth saying again. We face a crucial time in our hunting history. If we are not prepared to stand to our digs and support true recreational hunting, then just accept what you get. Skunk seemed to be very confident, while Brandon, Dash, Rob and Chancy just enjoyed the ride.

With an awesome chital stag in the bag for Gareth, it was time to hunt for another big old-timer for his dad Shane. We wanted something that also had that "Wow" factor.

It was our second last day of the trapline and tracks were getting scarce. Time to check, recheck, make some last minute changes and see if we can finish with one or two more dogs.
