Foxes were regularly sighted and being pests on this local property. So out I toddled for some thermal night hunting. I'm shooting my trusty Lithgow LA101 17HMR fitted with a new thermal scope I'm testing from HIKMICRO, the TQ50.

This is an educational video displaying the effectiveness of thermal hunting equipment used during professional night hunting on controlled private property.

An amazing season in Australia is resulting in higher than average invasive feral pig / hog numbers. With the abundance of grass and feed crops for these feral animals to raid, pest control via shooting is a successful measure. Using an ATV, 308 Winchester rifle and thermal equipment is a huge asset in gaining an advantage and getting hammer down on the pigs. Join me on this shooting trip where I put a dent in the population of an area I regularly frequent. I also filmed a few fantastic long-range killshots with my 6.5PRC on feral goats to use as trail camera bait for foxes and wild dogs.

I'm shooting the following rifles in this video:
* 308 Winchester - Ruger American Predator 18". Fitted into a MDT Gen 2 LSS chassis and running reloads with 150 grain Hornady SST projectiles. My thermal scope is a Pulsar Thermion 2 XP50.
* 6.5PRC - Bergara B14 HMR Wilderness, Athlon Cronus BTR Gen 2 4.5-29x56mm scope.

All the animals shot in the video are introduced, invasive feral species in Australia. These animals are being culled for pest control purposes. Whilst this is labelled a hunting video a lot of this footage is purely pest control shooting. There is no "fair chase" other than shooting straight and true resulting in the most ethical kills possible. I'm performing this role with professional equipment for property owners who grant me access and require assistance.

The European red fox was introduced into Australia in 1870s for recreational hunting. Fast forward to 2022 and they are one of our worst invasive pest species. Foxes have contributed to regional declines and extinctions of a wide range of native animals, particularly among medium-sized ground-dwelling and semi-arboreal mammals, ground-nesting birds and freshwater turtles. As a result they are a targeted animal for a vertebrate pest control contract shooter such as myself.

The black fox shot in this video is a European red fox. But they can revert to a trait of the silver fox this being a 0.1% chance. It is not a cross breed with a domestic dog or anything odd like that. This is just a very rare genetic throwback making the animal black.

This is an educational video displaying the effectiveness of thermal hunting equipment used during professional night hunting on controlled private property.

On this particular night I'm running my Lithgow LA101 chambered in 17HMR, 20gr Hornady XTP ammo. The device on the rig is a HIKMICRO TQ50

This is my user impressions and review on the new InfiRay Finder FH35R. I've had this device in real hunting usage conditions for around 25 hours so far. It's an excellent little thermal scanner and well worth considering if your in the market for a device with an inboard laser rangefinder (LRF). This isn't a "how to" video with boring unboxing and basic menu function explanations. This is my handle on the FH35R as a shooter and user.

This trip is two fold, I'm doing a bit of feral animal control via ground shooting, Pigs / Hogs and Foxes are high on the target list. Plus I'm gearing up for the Autumn Fallow and Red deer rut in Australia, setting some trail camera's to see what's about.

With the abundance of grass and feed crops for these feral animals to raid and hide in. Pest control via shooting is a successful measure. Using an ATV and thermal equipment is a huge asset in gaining an advantage and having some success on the ferals. Join me on this shooting trip where I put a dent in the population of an area I regularly frequent.

This trip I'm shooting my custom Tikka T3 chambered in 6BR. Thermal scope is a Pulsar Thermion 2 XP50.

This shooting trip I'm out hunting invasive feral pigs and foxes on private property. I've got the ATV Quadbike and my mate Rodney from RJM Hunting Australia. Lets go shoot some pigs !!!

There's plenty of action packed killshot footage video with the thermal scope !!!

These feral invasive animals don't stand much of a sporting chance with this type of pest control / shooting / night hunting. But that's the idea......... Critters on the deck and not killing native animals and damaging agriculture is the aim of the game !!!

I'm shooting the following rifle in this video:
* 308 Winchester - Ruger American Predator 18". Fitted into a MDT Gen 2 LSS chassis and running reloads with 150 grain Hornady SST projectiles. My thermal scope is the new Pulsar Thermion 2 LRF XP50 Pro.

This feral pig / hog cull is video mainly recorded with thermal shooting equipment during a contracted feral control program in Australia. We do it all hunting in the darkness, removing 92 feral pigs in a single night, predominantly on freshly cut sorghum cropping fields. I'm out again on this run with mate Rodney from RJM Hunting Australia. Lets go shoot some pigs !!!

There's plenty of action packed killshot footage & video clips with the thermal gear !!!

These feral animals are a huge environmental and agricultural menace in Australia. This is purely pest control, no animals are shot for consumption. Bacterial and diseases like brucellosis are prevalent in these areas.

I'm shooting the following rifle in this video:
* 308 Winchester - Ruger American Predator 18". Fitted into a MDT Gen 2 LSS chassis and running Sako ammunition with 130 grain hollow point projectiles. Suppressor is made by Shawmac Industries. My thermal scope is the new Pulsar Thermion 2 LRF XP50 Pro. For a scanner I'm running my Helion 2 XP50 Pro.

I am a vertebrate pest control - contract shooter in NSW. For those wondering about the suppressor I hold the necessary permit in NSW to do so. If seeking information regarding that, please check the FAR webpage for details.

All shooting is performed on privately owned farms, with exclusive permission granted in writing for paid services.

This is my user impressions and review on the new Pulsar Axion 2 LRF XQ35. I've had this device in real world conditions for around 40 hours so far. It's an excellent little thermal scanner and well worth considering if your in the market for a device with an inboard laser rangefinder (LRF). This isn't a "how to" video with boring unboxing and basic menu function explanations. This is my handle on the Axion 2 LRF XQ35 as a shooter and user.

Big thanks Pulsar in Europe and Extravision in Australia for sending me the new Axion to play with. Without support from companies who are proactive in the hunting industry like this, these video's are mostly not possible with the speed tech is evolving.

This Hog Hunt / Wild Boar Hunting & Pig Hunting Australia video is recorded with thermal shooting equipment during various contracted feral control programs. We do it all hunting in the darkness, stationary, walking, on the run or asleep - Makes little difference where the pig is when it's just feral animal control.

Lets go shoot some pigs !!!

There's plenty of action packed killshot footage & video clips with the thermal gear !!!

Nothing fancy in this question and answer video. Just me chatting, covering off some channel insights, repetitive questions and a few little hints.

See you all soon for another Aussie hunting and shooting video.

This fox pest control shooting video I'm out with my Custom Tikka T3 rifle chambered in 6BR fitted with a Pulsar Thermion 2 LRF XP50 Pro thermal scope. Thermal scanner duties fall to the excellent Pulsar Merger LRF XP50 thermal binoculars.

Lay of the land compromises a hillside backing onto a creek and lucerne flats, certainly a few foxes about to shoot in terrain like this but sometimes safe angles are niggly to find on the flats.

The owner of this farm is very happy with my services as he figured there was "a" fox which had killed all his lambs. Nope there's foxes everywhere out there, more than one of the buggers. I'll be back for sure in no time.

This shooting trip we are out hunting invasive feral pigs, foxes and wild deer. There's plenty of action packed footage in this video with my GoPro on a head mount in daylight. As usual there's no shortage of close range kill shots with the thermal scope too once it got dark !!!

Big thanks to my mate for the invite out to assist on this contract. Awesome to spend time with a like minded professional buzzing around in his custom built shooting ATV (Polaris Ranger SxS XP 1000).

The weather conditions were terrible in the lead up to the trip with bad localised flooding. Access to most of the productive areas were not possible due to the boggy ground from over annual rainfall. So we stayed higher in the hills and still did alright.

Critters on the deck and not killing native animals and damaging agriculture is the aim of the game. These uncontrolled animals are an environmental and agricultural menace in Australia and are mostly classed as invasive pest species. Shooting feral pigs is purely pest control, no animals are shot for consumption. Bacterial and diseases like brucellosis are prevalent in these areas.

Both my friend and I are licensed vertebrate pest control - contract shooters in NSW. For those wondering about the suppressors we both hold the necessary permits in NSW to do so. If seeking information regarding that, please check the FAR webpage for details. All shooting is performed on privately owned farms, with exclusive permission granted in writing for paid services.

Mostly I'm shooting my 308 Winchester - Ruger American Predator 18" rifle in the video. This rig is fitted into a MDT Gen 2 LSS chassis, running reloaded ammunition with 150 grain Hornady SST projectiles. Suppressor fitted is made by Shawmac Industries. My thermal scope is the new Pulsar Thermion 2 LRF XP50 Pro. For a scanner I'm running a Pulsar Merger LRF XP50.

There is a sprinkling of 6mmBR and 6.5PRC action too where those rifles were more functional.

I'm out on this bunny bust'in rabbit shoot running my FX Impact M3 .22 calibre for some BULK pest control shooting. This is a professional pest control cull for a local rabbit problem. Rabbit hunting at night is an Aussie pastime, add in a modern twist of PCP hunting with thermal and night vision equipment. You can envisage good results if the rabbit numbers are prevalent. There is plenty of air rifle hunting and shooting action in this YouTube video for you all to watch.

FX Impact M3 is shooting on song in .22 calibre shooting 23gr Patriot Javelin slugs. Scope is a PARD NV008s LRF with ballistic hold over capability. Thermal hand scanner duties went to the amazing Pulsar Merger LRF XP50 binoculars. For those interested my FX Impact M3 is running a Huma-Air high flow slug & pellet probe but no other power upgrades. It has a standard 600mm barrel with superior liner (not heavy). I'm firing the 23gr slugs at about 925 fps for sub MOA accuracy. Few Sabre Tactical upgrades in the mix to the rifle body like the Arca Rail 2, TRS & bag rider. Air supply is by a ShootAir light weight composite tank to refill the rifle bottle as required.

A good portion of these rabbits shot are utilised for the pot or pet food.

I am a licensed vertebrate pest control - contract shooters in NSW. For those wondering about the suppressor, I hold the necessary permit in NSW for use. If seeking information regarding that, please check the FAR webpage for details. All shooting is performed on privately owned farms, with exclusive permission granted in writing for paid services.
