The trail cameras had told the story, it was time to reflect, learn, improve and get ready for the next project. These dogs had learnt, they would be hard to trick in the future and this is what makes our wild dingoes such a survivor. This is a trait to respect.

As hunting guides, there are some people you never forget.
"The Frankies", Frank, Frankie and Danial shot straight, worked as a team and listened to instructions, plus they are simply fun to be in the bush with. Watch out wild pigs, here comes the Team!!

Some hunts simply stick in your mind as being special. This scrub bull hunt was one of those. It is as much about the people as it is about the game because although hunting is a serious activity, it has to also be fun.

After a quick drive back home and a few days catching up on repairs and bills, it was time to head back north. I had trapped this property a few times before so I didn't expect big numbers but those we were targeting were in on the breeder cows and young calves already. This was going to be interesting!!

Frankie was on a mission. After two years of peace and quiet, Frankie was coming back for a scrub bull and a chital stag and maybe some hogs and a Barra or two. He was coming back to hunt hard so the challenge was on. Time to wake up Chocky and Axle - Frankie's Back!!

I'm out on this pest control shoot with a good friend with focusing on a wild European rabbit outbreak. Shooting duties fall to my FX Impact M3 in .22 calibre for some BULK shooting. This is a professional pest control cull.

Most of the rabbits unfortunately were infected with myxomatosis. Due to that the carcasses went into a pit and were buried.

Utilising thermal and night vision equipment can yield great results if the rabbit numbers are prevalent. Some sites were delicate with a strong focus on safe shooting angles and 100% target ID.

FX Impact M3 is shooting on song in .22 calibre shooting 23gr Patriot Javelin slugs. Scope is a PARD DS35/70 LRF with ballistic hold over capability. Thermal hand scanner duties went to the amazing Pulsar Merger LRF XP50 binoculars. For those interested my FX Impact M3 is running a Huma-Air high flow slug & pellet probe but no other power upgrades. It has a standard 600mm barrel with superior liner (not heavy). I'm firing the 23gr slugs at about 925 fps for sub MOA accuracy (Which as 44 ft/lbs for the UK guys that feel the requirement to know this). Few Sabre Tactical upgrades in the mix to the rifle body like the Arca Rail 2, TRS & bag rider. Air supply is by a ShootAir light weight composite tank to refill the rifle bottle as required.

I am a licensed vertebrate pest control - contract shooters in NSW. For those wondering about the suppressor, I hold the necessary permit in NSW for use. If seeking information regarding that, please check the FAR webpage for details. All shooting is performed on privately owned farms, with exclusive permission granted in writing for paid services.

I don't mind being on my own as there is always Skunk, Brandon or Waylon to talk to. If you want a crowd, you only need to pull the buggy up and in come the cattle too. I had called in for "smoko" at the main homestead on my way in on day one and they were all coming down with some mystery virus. Won't get me, I'm bullet proof.

My apologies team, this clip was supposed to go up over two years ago. At the time, we ran into a problem that hit us quite hard and it took a lot just to keep the show on the road. Here it is, top class bowhunting for monster Queensland cleanskin bulls.

It was going to be a lonesome trapline, except for the "Muttlies" but to make things worse, I was coming down with the flu. "Must have caught it off the Grandkids", I wrongly thought. It shows, you shouldn't assume anything. "Traps in the ground, toughen up ya ol' bugga !"

Three good mates, all of them good shots and safe hunters, in North Queensland with me on a hunt for wild pigs. This turned out to be a Wild Pig Hunt to Remember.

As I was camping out at one of the cattle yards, I hadn't heard the news. Half the crew on this big property had tested positive and had the same symptoms I had. Just keep trapping a voice in my head told me.

Thank you one and all for the kind words and support after last weeks clip on our grand old Glenfiddich Hut and its untimely fate. I thought now, it best to give you a glimpse of why so many loved this mountain cabin like we did. We tasted freedom and showed others what it tasted like too. It can and must happen again.

Hunting with one of the gentlemen of this game. GB and I go back a long long way, so it was something special to take his best mate Jason out with us for his first red stag. A true Qld free range old mountain monarch.

I was as "crook as a dog", with the dreaded bott but the show must go on.
The cattle seemed to sense my plight and were wrecking every trap set, well almost all. Hold the line and things will start to work.

An integral part of managing a red deer herd is ensuring that the majority of the breeding is done by the best genetic animals. Just like the Whitetail deer, the wild red deer of Queensland Australia have their own quite unique traits that are integral to maintaining a quality herd. Over the coming months, we will explore many of these areas on this channel. Lets start with a great hunt for a big "Cull" stag during the 2022 red deer rut.

Do you have the guts to "stand to your Digs", to hold to your principles?
If you do, you will understand what I am saying. If not, bury your head in the sand and say, she'll be right.

The biggest issue for me on this trapline were the cattle. The quality of the cattle husbandry on this property was so high that the stock went out of their way to be friendly, often too friendly for keeping traps in the ground. This is when you catch dogs with your brains not your brawn.
